Photography is my way of expressing myself. It's how I make sense of the world and the people who inhabit it.

I'm inspired by the balance between our differences and our similarities. That fascination lies at the heart of every photograph I make.

I believe art should do more than simply decorate a space. I create fine art that evokes emotion, invites reflection, and creates a lasting connection.

Raised in Zeeland and now based in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, I have always been fascinated by what drives people.

For many years, I worked for 20 years as a mental health nurse. I shortly lived in Bogotá, Colombia, studied Middle Eastern Studies, and travelled extensively throughout the Middle East. These experiences continue to shape the way I see people and the world around me.

I'm a self-taught photographer. Over the years, I developed my own visual language, combining my background in mental health with the perspectives I gained through living and traveling across different cultures. My work is rooted in curiosity, empathy and human connection.

Drawn to the balance between differences and similarities, I often photograph in remote, non-touristy places, searching for the beauty of everyday life. From a woman doing laundry in Iraq to a family setting off fireworks in India, my photographs capture moments that feel surprisingly familiar. They may have been taken far away, yet they speak to something we all recognize.

I create fine art photography that invites you to slow down and look a little longer. Every image is layered with details that quietly reveal themselves over time. Whether you connect with the emotion of a moment, the people within it, or the place itself, my hope is that each piece feels personal and continues to resonate every time you see it.
