Rather than documenting places, this collection invites you to look beyond assumptions. The photos show the layer beneath the headlines and politics, where everyday life unfolds as much as it does anywhere else in the world.

The photos are unposed. Showing daily life moments as they naturally happen. Moments that overcome culture, differences and distance.

Genesis invites you to look a little longer and experience life from another perspective. Not because these moments are rare, but because the moments feel familiar and value the beauty of the ordinary.

This book is neither a travel book nor about documentary photography. It’s a collection of fine art photographs of people living their lives, just as you and I do in Amsterdam, Paris, or Tokyo etc.

Genesis is a collection of the photos that marked the beginning of my journey as a fine art photographer.

After graduating in Middle Eastern Studies, I travelled throughout the region over many years, returning again and again with my camera. These photos became part of the foundation of my artistic vision and continue to shape the work I create today.
